Company Principals:Sharon Lohse Kunitz - Author of Maestro's software, is also a a teacher, composer, and adjudicator. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in piano pedagogy from the University of Colorado, an M. A. in music history from the University of Denver and has additional studies at Augsburg College and the University of Washington. She has taught in colleges and public schools in several states and now teaches in her studio in Albuquerque.Her publications include: Over 40 piano compositions published by Myklas Music Press; Over 25 software education programs published by Maestro Music, Inc.; and a variety of articles discussing the use of software as a pedagogical tool in professional journals. She has presented lectures/demonstrations involving pedagogical software at many conventions and conferences. Her career is listed in the International Encyclopedia of Women Composers, Who's Who in American Music, The International Who's Who in Music and the International Directory of Distinguished Leadership. Jim K. Kunitz- Is the president and chief operating officer of Maestro Music. He holds an Engineer of Mines degree from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO and a Masters in Business Administration from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL He served two years in the Army Corps of Engineers and worked for 15 years in various engineering, supervisory, and managerial positions in the minerals extraction industry. In 1993 Mr. Kunitz left the mining industry to found Maestro Music. As president, he has been involved in all aspects of developing, producing and marketing a line of products which teach music fundamentals to students working independently at the computer. |
